Dell puts small businesses in the bright lights of N.Y.
--------------------------
Dell Inc. wants to put some of its small-business customers up in lights — literally.
The company is running a contest asking businesses with 200 employees or less to submit a photo and a brief statement of their beliefs. For example, a bakery might say, "We believe people deserve the perfect cookie."
The 300 winners will get a free ad on an electronic billboard in New York's Times Square on July 9 or 10. The photo, statement and contact information will be displayed multiple times on one of those days.
Dell and T3, its Austin-based interactive
advertising agency, will pick the winners. The contest ends Wednesday.
